The Holy Spirit is God. He is the third person of the divine trinity and of the God-Head involving, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a Person and He is God. Jesus told us about the Holy Spirit in John 14:26, saying, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”Therefore from this bible verse we can understand that the Holy Spirit teaches believers about the things of God and He helps us to remember what Jesus has said to us.
Jesus also told us about the Holy Spirit in Acts 1:8, saying,“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” And,it is also important to note that the Holy Spirit comforts believers of Jesus Christ. In Acts 9:31, it is noted that, “Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.”
There is power and authority in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus commanded us saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
As a believer in Jesus Christ, it is very important to be baptized and to receive the Holy Spirit. In John 3:5-8, Jesus answered Nicodemus saying, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
If you are not yet saved by Jesus Christ, you can repent and be baptized. And you can pray to God and receive the Holy Spirit. In Acts 2:38 the Apostle Peter preached saying, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Amen.
